The Japanese National Group of the International Association of Penal Law (AIDP), with the cosponsors : the Ministry of Justice of Japan, the United Nations Asia and Far East Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (UNAFEI) and the Asia Crime Prevention Foundation, organized the Preparatory Colloquium for the XVIIth Congress of Penal Law of the AIDP for Section II, “Corruption and Related Crimes in International Economic Activities”, on November 11-13,2002 at the University of Tokyo in Tokyo, Japan.

2 Twelve national groups of the AIDP were represented at the Colloquium : Austria, Canada, China, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Japan, Poland and Slovenia. In addition, the participants of a seminar at the UNAFEI from Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Georgia, Japan, Kyrgyz, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Pakistan, Paraguay, Romania, Thailand and Venezuela, attended the Colloquium. At the end of the meeting, the Colloquium adopted a draft resolution to be introduced for adoption at the XVIIth Congress.
