Les Juifs russes en France. Profil et évolution d’une collectivité
Catherine Gousseff
Some were « immigrants » first from the former Russian Empire and then from Bolshevik Russia in its first years, and intended to settle in France, others were « emigrants » who had left Russia mainly for potitical reasons, and considered going back to Russia after a certain lapse of time only ; together they made up, starting from 1880 and mostly at the beginning of the XXth century, a highly diversified group of workers, students, intellectual and artists, trade-unionists and political militants. What brought them to Paris ? What community links drew them together ? What might be their relationship with non-jewish emigrants ? Such are the questions and the answers given by the introductory chapter of this study.
• Juifs de Russie, Juifs de l’Empire russe
• Des immigrés installés
• Des émigrés en mouvement
• Les nouvelles arrivées d’après-guerre
