Un titre israélite de province : La Revue juive de Lorraine (1925-1940)

Françoise Job
with the thoughtful support of Paul Haguenauer, the Chief Rabbi of Nancy, this review seeks from the start to create a link between the various communities in Lorraine through the publishing of news concerning each one and all, and to offer a rich cultural content, mainly historical, intended, according to its conception, to make the Lorraine Israelites – the review was concerned with them only – actually aware of their French identity. During the thirties, although they were not dealt with in the first numbers, begin to appear through the pages giving information about the present Jewish life, mostly those dealing with the problem of the Jewish immigration and the Jewish refugees from Central Europe, and Zionism. The review stops being edited in June 1940 and starts again in October 1948 with a new staff which does not seem to be aware of the past of the review.
