Les impasses de la filiation et la question du féminin

Un écart sépare l’inscription spatiale de la filiation dans les arbres généalogiques et la logique inhérente aux processus de pensée concernant la filiation. Par des voies différentes, W. Granoff, C. Stein et E. Benveniste ont souligné le primat, dans la pensée occidentale ou dans l’élaboration freudienne, d’une représentation linéaire de la filiation, construite à partir du père et reposant, soit sur la « mise à l’écart » du féminin, dans la pensée de W. Granoff, soit sur la construction du « père immortel et inengendré », dans la pensée de C. Stein, soit sur l’absence, dans le lexique européen, analysé par E. Benveniste, de l’adjectif matrius.
Étudiant, dans Totem et tabou, l’interdit de regard et de nomination concernant le versant féminin de l’origine, Freud inscrira la pensée psychanalytique sur une double vectorisation : tenir compte, d’une part, de la priorité culturelle en insistant sur la polarité paternelle, favoriser, d’autre part, un régime de pensée qui reconduise vers la question de l’origine et du Heim maternel. Mots-clés : ancêtre, « Athéna sans mère », décision, Erinyes, généalogie, interdit, paternité. A gap separates spatial inscription and filiation between genealogical trees and the logic inherent in the thought processes concerning filiation. Through different channels, W. Granoff, C. Stein and E. Benveniste have stressed the primacy in western thought and in Freudian elaboration, of a linear representation of filiation, built from the father and reposing either on « setting aside » the feminine, as in the thinking of W. Granoff, the construction of the « immortal and unengendered father », as in the thinking of C. Stein, or the absence, in the European lexis, as analysed by E. Benveniste, of the adjective matrius.
Studying the prohibition of looking and naming concerning the matrilineal side in Totem and Taboo, Freud was to tie in psychoanalytical thinking on a double vectorisation, on the one hand taking cultural priority into account by insisting on paternal polarity, and on the other using a rule of thought leading back to questioning the origin of the maternal Heim.
