Excursus sur l’initiation

En réponse au fait que, dans leur majorité, les sciences humaines restent figées dans le positivisme du XIXe siècle, force est de constater que le renouveau de l’archaïsme dans nos sociétés postmodernes nécessite un autre regard. Dans le monde contemporain, où imaginaires, mythes et histoires vécues constituent un genre de centralité souterraine, en écho à la participation magique du monde répond l’initiation comme manière de se relier aux autres. Groupes d’affinités électives, société secrètes, communautés de frères, ce sont tous des exemples d’un mode de vie au-delà la volonté de domination et qui ouvre la voie initiatique à des reliances multiples et à la joie de vivre. Ce nouvel éthos, ce nouveau lien social fut célébré par les troubadours et les romantiques. Du mythe du Graal au Werther de Goethe, les liens mystiques se tissent autour de la jeunesse éternelle, la fureur de la vie et éros perpétuel. In response to the fact that, in their majority, human sciences still remain under the spell of XIXth century’s positivism, it is urgent to notice that the reappearance of archaism in our postmodern societies needs a different look. In contemporary world, where imaginaries, myths and everyday life stories constitute a kind of underground centrality, initiation, as a way of social liaison, echoes the magical participation of the world. Elective affinity groups, secret societies and brother communities are all examples of a way of life beyond the will to dominate that opens through initiation paths into multiple community ties and the joy of being. This new ethos, this new social tie, was once celebrated by the troubadours and the romantics. From the quest of the Graal to Goethe’s Werther, mystical ties find their way through the myth of eternal youth, the fury of living and the perpetrated eros.
