Un désaveu de postérité : le couteau de Lichtenberg

La construction théorique en psychanalyse repose sur une contradiction fondamentale : issue des tréfonds de la psyché du créateur et donc, à ce titre, essentiellement singulière, il lui faut cependant s’affirmer comme valable universellement. De manière générale, l’intérêt d’une théorie est évalué à sa capacité d’être reçue, reconnue et prônée par d’autres qui vont dès lors la partager. Cette contradiction entre l’acte singulier du théoricien et le mouvement groupal qui le reprend se concrétise dans l’usage qui va désigner telle ou telle pratique du nom du théoricien auquel elle se réfère, créant ainsi des « freudiens », des « jungiens » ou des « lacaniens ». Le patronyme a perdu sa majuscule, il est devenu adjectif, qualifiant une identité théorico-pratique. Avec la notion de « désaveu de postérité », on s’interroge ici sur la place ambiguë dans laquelle Freud avait mis Jung. Au-delà de l’anecdotique et du récit de vie, on touche la question de l’identité et donc de l’identification qui est au centre de la construction théorique et, bien sûr, de sa transmission.Mots-clés : Autobiographie, transmission, déviationnisme, Jung, « virus du pré- curseur ». The theoretical construction of psychoanalysis is based on a fundamental contradiction – stemming from the depths of its creator’s psyche, it is therefore necessarily an extremely individual thing, but is taken from then on to have acquired a universally applicable value. Generally speaking, the interest a theory possesses is measured by its capacity to be received, recognised and spoken forth by others who, from then on, share and uphold it. This contradiction between the specific process of the creator of the theory and the group movement that promulgates it, becomes concrete in the usage that designates such or such a clinical practice by the name of the person whose theory it is based on, thus creating such groups as ‘Freudians’, ‘Jungians’ or ‘Lacanians’. The name has become an adjective, describing a theoretical and practice-based identity. With the notion of disavowing posterity, this article reflects on the ambiguous position Freud puts Jung in. Over and beyond the anecdotes and story of their lives, we are touching here on the question of identity and therefore that of identification with it, a question that is at the heart of theoretical construction, and of course, of its transmission.Keywords : Autobiography, Transmission, Deviationism, Jung, The « Precursor Virus ».
