Peter Blos et Erik Erikson ont émigré aux États-Unis après avoir travaillé ensemble pendant l’essentiel de leur parcours à Vienne, lorsqu’ils ont exercé en tant que psychopédagogues dans l’Hietzing Schule créée par A. Freud en 1927. Notre propos vise à montrer comment, à partir d’une histoire personnelle différente mais d’éléments communs façonnant leur amitié, l’immigration va orienter leurs trajectoires respectives. Tandis que pour P. Blos, l’émigration entérine également une série de ruptures ponctuelles, notamment avec A. Freud et E. Erikson, pour ce dernier, l’émigration a fait partie de son destin dès le début de sa vie. Ils incarnent deux façons de vivre l’émigration et ses effets, Erikson ayant choisi de tenter d’élaborer son expérience, intimement liée à son histoire personnelle, tandis que Blos a adopté une position plus fermée sur ce sujet, refusant longtemps de se souvenir. Au-delà de leurs différences de positionnement, leur amitié a cependant survécu à toutes les épreuves pour subsister jusqu’à la fin de leur vie.Mots-clés : Émigration, Hietzing Schule, Adolescence, Histoire de la psychana- lyse, Amitié. Peter Blos and Erik Erikson emigrated to the United States after having worked together for the time they spent in Vienna employed as psychoanalysis teaching specialists at the Hietzing Schule established by A. Freud in 1927. In this article, the author aims at showing how, from totally different starting points in life, but with certain elements in common that nurtured their friendship, migration conditions their respective paths in life. While for P. Blos emigration is the confirmation of a series of punctual schisms, notably with A. Freud and E. Erikson; for the latter, emigration is an integral part of existence from its beginning to its end. These two men embody two different ways of experiencing emigration and its consequences, with Erikson choosing to try to work through his experience, so closely linked as it was to his personal life, while Blos adopted a more closed position on this subject, simply blocking out these memories for many years. Despite their two opposed stances, their friendship survived all these ordeals and they remained close friends until the end of their lives.Keywords : Emigration, Hietzing Schule, Adolescence, The History of Psychoanalysis, Friendship.
