Tant pour les médias que pour les instances juridiques qui tentent de traiter actuellementduterrorisme,ilya la tentation d’interpeller les sciences humaines pour répondre duphénomène.Visantà élaborer un savoir sur l’humain,celles-cipeuventtenter d’yrépondre. Dans ce cadre, nous abordons le cas particulier de la psychopathologie, à partir de l’un des axes majeur de cette clinique qu’est la psychanalyse. En posant trois questions, sur la particularité de l’acte terroriste, sur l’existence d’un profil du terroriste, et sur la possibilité d’un traitement des effets sur la population, nous présentons les limites d’une telle entreprise et les enseignements que la psychanalyse apporte.Mots-clés : Psychanalyse, Sacrifice, Singularité, Terrorisme. It is true both for the media, as it is for the legal institutions that are currently trying to deal with the terrorism problem, that the temptation to call upon human sciences to look for answers to these problems is strong. Human sciences, in their efforts to work out a theory about human societies, may indeed provide answers to the problem. In the light of this, we will look at the particular case of psychopathology, on the basis of one of the major axes of this clinical process that is psychoanalysis. By asking three questions, on the specificity of the terrorist act, the existence of a profile for terrorists and on the possibility of treating the effects of terrorism on the population, we will outline the limits of such an undertaking and the lessons that psychoanalysis can teach us.Keywords : Psychoanalysis, Sacrifice, Singularity, Terrorism.
