Remarques sur l’emploi des mots et des concepts concernant le terrorisme dans le conflit du Proche-Orient, les malentendus qu’ils peuvent faire surgir de bonne foi, le rôle qu’ils peuvent jouer dans la manipulation de l’opinion. Description historique et lexicologique en miroir d’un choix de concepts relevant du champ sémantique du terrorisme, en français, en hébreu et en arabe et appréciation de leur charge idéologique. La méthodologie utilisée s’appuie sur les stratégies de clarification terminologique préliminaire effectuée par un interprète de conférence ou un traducteur pour sélectionner ses mots en fonction du locuteur, de l’interlocuteur et d’une situation donnée.Mots-clés : Terrorisme, Terminologie, Idéologie, Proche-Orient. This article remarks on the use of words and concepts linked with terrorism in the Middle East conflict, the misunderstandings that these can legitimately give rise to and the role that they can play in the manipulation of public opinion. We are also presented with a historical and lexical reflection of the choice of concepts from the semantic field of terrorism in French, Hebrew and Arabic, along with an appreciation of their ideological force. The methods used here are based on the strategies available for clarifying terminology undertaken by a conference interpreter or translator prior to carrying out their work,when selecting words appropriatetotheposition occupied bythespeaker,thosehe/she addresses and in a specific context.Keywords : Terrorism, Terminology, Ideology, Middle East.
