Résumé : La réalité psychique telle que Freud l’a conçue à partir de « Totem et Tabou » est sans doute sa découverte fondamentale. Le fantasme inconscient se pense sur le mode de l’accompli. L’étude du concept au long de l’œuvre de Freud sera reprise pour souligner la difficulté de l’articuler avec la vérité historique d’une part, et le pulsionnel de l’autre. En témoigne la place du Mal dans le dualisme Eros-Thanatos. On envisagera ensuite l’ambiguïté de l’écoute analytique comme écoute associative des processus de transformation qui affectent les formes de la réalité psychique et comme écoute interprétative des mécanismes qui régulent cette transformation, entre description et explication des processus inconscients.Mots-clés : Réalité psychique, Vérité historique, Mal, Construction, Interpréta- tion. Psychic reality as Freud conceives of it in ‘Totem and Taboo’is surely his most important discovery. Unconscious fantasies function for our thought processes on the mode of the accomplished. The study of this concept throughout Freud’s works is singled out to highlight the difficulty of articulating this, along with historical truth on one hand, and psychic drives on the other. Proof of this lies in the role of Evil in the Eros-Thanatos pairing. We shall then go on to consider the ambiguity of the function of listening in analysis, a function both associated with the transformation processes that affect the shape of psychic reality and also as a means of interpreting the mechanisms that regulate this transformation, meaning that this function lies somewhere between a description and explanation of unconscious processes.Keywords : Psychic reality, Historical truth, Evil, Construction, Interpretation.
